A letter from Allen H. Stowe in Ridgewood, New Jersey to Percy reminiscing on the 1956 crew. He tells him he has lost contact with most of the other members, except Leigh Faldi and Frank bates, and that he has heard rumours that 'Henley may not survive as the one truly international annual regatta'. He closes the letter by wishing him luck for the future.
A letter from Ben Brewster to Percy, reminiscing on his time at Henley and how Percy was always here for them and shared in their victories and defeats. He recalls being invited to Percy's home for tea, the tour of Jesus college, and rowing on the Cam. A letter from Charles Mills in New York to Percy reminiscing about his fondest times as an oarsman and attending Henley. He tells him of the many photographs and slides he has of his visit to England, and in particular his later visit to Jesus College boathouse and Percy's home, where they rowed in singles and rode in his three wheeled car. He closes the letter expressing his regret that others will not get to meet Percy, and wishes him the best of luck in his retirement.

He recalls how he became aware that for a shell to have a blue and grey painted ball on their bow, it had to have travelled to Henley, and that in 1967 and 1968 he met Percy, the man who put them on there. He did not get to row that year but made many memories and came back in 1969 as stroke of the Trinity College, Hartford Eight in the Ladies Plate. He expresses his thoughts on Percy being the living part of the Henley experience, and that men like him keep the tradition and legend alive.
