"Sir, I am greatly obliged by your favour this day received containing your draft for £11. I have not sent a receipt because I am at a loss to know the proper certificate you wish for as Mr Broadwick required only the acknowledgement of the money by a letter.
If a certificate is now necessary I must trouble you to inform me what is proper and it shall be forwarded immediately.
I remain Sir with the greatest respect your obliged humble servant".
