Invoice for surveyor work from R. C. Hammond, surveyor, for work done from 21st April 1857, 19th-21st May 1857, 29-30th May 1857, December 1857, 23rd October 1858, 29th October 1858. Notes respectively: viewing Mr John Death’s Leasehold estate, making measurements to test at Old Farm, furnished by C. Francis Esq and sent description thereof for lease (no chargers - not being approved by the Master, a new survey was offered); attending at office of C. Francis Esq. with Mr Death, who refused to be at any cost of a survey; engaged making survey plan and measurements including cottages and house in Jesus Lane, and fair plan for College Registry; inserting same on lease of counterpart; making survey plan and measurements of 2 plots of land, north and south of the Cambridge Railway Station Roads; paid man’s expenses; instructed to lands to be set out for Mr Sayle’s occupation, waited with him on 26th December, received instructions afterwards; setting out as directed a plan in field. Total £12 16s.
