Printed appeal on behalf of the primary schools of the church of England in Cambridge with handwritten letter inside as follows: Dear Sir, A year ago you wrote me a very kind letter in connexion with the Church Schools of Cambridge, as a result of that letter I made an application to your College for a subscription to the General Maintenance fund of the Old Schools of Cambridge, which the College generously granted and which you most kindly forwarded to me. I am encouraged by such kind treatment to apply again after the lapse of a year and I know you will help me with the Master and Fellows. We have had very heavy repairs witht he roofs of St. Philip's and the Abbey Schools and our General Fund is depleted. With regard to our special 3 years' effort: Last year we tarpared (?) 5 playgrounds, made two teachers rooms, a cloak room and a lavatory and erected 4 sliding partitions. This year we hope at the East Road Schools to build two class rooms for practical work, one on the Boys' side and the other on the Girls' and to build additional cloak room and lavatory accommodation and at St. Philip's Boys' School to build a teachers room and a lavatory. I enclose with much pleasure the latest list of the results of our special appeal, because I know you are interested in all religious education.' It is not clear who the letter is addressed to.
