Receipt for land surveying done at Jesus College estates and farms, including Steeple Morden, Willingham, West Wratting, Shelford, Harston. Paid and signed December 15th, 1879 by Glass and Long, for a total of £31 19s 6d.

Regarding Coprolites at Staple Morden and "Hunts Farm": Journey making survey and admeasurement of the several pieces of land dug to this dale, plotting same on your plan and working out qualities. Correspondence and interviews hereon, and supervising the excavation and management of the works, and expenses. Interviews with Dr. Westmorland, Misters Hunt and Colchester regarding Cottages and land required for excavation, also Coprolite compensation much correspondence with Mr Hunt and finally rearranging matters with him and Mr Colchester. Regarding Willingham Estate: receiving instructions from Dr Westmorland to inspect and report upon the state of repair and cultivation of property held on lease by Mr J. O. Daintree, also property held on lease by Mr. Thomas Frohock. Journey and inspecting respective properties several times, taking inventory of dilapidations of each the second time, drafting two reports adnd forwarding fair copies with valuations for Rent and propositions for letting same. Interviews with Dr. Westmorland hereon, received instructions to proceed and let the properties. Work negotiating with applicants and previous tenants, and ultimately letting Dodoons property to Misters J. F. Thoday, Askew and Few. Meeting Mr Frohock and ultimately letting all the land (before held by him under different agreements) under one agreement. Drafting agreements, procuring approval and execution. Commission including expenses. Making claim upon Mr Daintree for dilapidations, negotiating with him and meeting his valuer Mr. J. Day at Willingham, and offered to accept £50 he offering £30, consulting with Dr Westmorland heron, and finally agreeing to accept this sum. Drafting valuation on Stamp and procuring a settlement. Commission including all expenses and stamp. Totalled £15 4s 6d.

Regarding "West Wratting Valley Farm": Receiving instructions from Dr Westmorland to examine the Valley Farm with a view to reletting the same to the present tenant and to report hereon. Journey to West Wratting, meeting Misters Rush and Richard Simons, going over the farm, drafting report and advising a reletting on lease for 8 years renewable at the third year at the rent of £16-. Commission including price of Conveyance and incidental expenses. Totalled £4 13s 6d.

Farm at Shelford: inspecting the farm in the occupation of Mr. J. Gurnell with a view to making a reduction of rent tis season. Totalled £1 1s.

Farm at Harston: inspecting the farm in the occupation of Mr A. Pull with a view of making a reduction of rent this season consulting Dr Westmorland hereon. Totalled 10s 6d.
