Medium plate 22.5cm diameter. Cockerel on globe with College motto in centre in yellow, brown and red. Decorative floral pattern round edge in brown, blue, yellow, green, pink and red. The plate is in a presentation box and was presented to Professor Barry A. K. Rider.
The College commissioned Wedgwood to design and produce a limited edition of crockery for the exclusive use of the College. This was used on High Table and in Hall for many years, but was withdrawn when the sets became depleted. The few plates that remain are now presented on special occasions to honoured recipients.

Wooden base made to display the Benin Bronze cockerel which was donated to the College in 1905 by George William Neville. Metal plaque on the front with a Latin inscription, translates as: “Georges William Neville gave to Jesus College this emblem of its founder which he himself had brought back from the ancient city of the Benins in Western Africa captured by the British forces in 1897.”
