The coins have the Queen's head on one side and different symbols and wording on the other commemorating: the 80th birthday of The Queen Mother, 4th August 1980; Queen Elizabeth II's silver jubilee, 1977; 25th anniversary of the marriage of Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh, 1947-1972

      There are two coins to commemorate each event.

      Note

      The coin issued in August 1980 to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Queen Mother shows her left facing portrait on the reverse of the coin. This was the first time a person other than the reigning monarch had been portrayed on a British coin in their own lifetime.
