Deeks, CharlesFour deep picture frames containing numerous plaster cast medallions showing classical images, scenes and figures. Each medallion appears to be numbered, the numbers, presumably, once relating to a list. Historic photographs suggest that at one time these hung in the SCR.

Bronowski was responsible for the plan alongside Jonas Salk and Renato Dulbecco. The plan was to consist of: a statement explaining uniqueness of the Institute; an account of the achievements of the Fellows; an account of the areas of research which the Institute would move into, and why it would be most effective in those areas; and an academic plan.
Includes: a draft entitled 'The Salk Institute: Why and How' (25 Jan 1967, by Augustus Kinzel); notes on current and proposed work by the Institute on the understanding of control mechanisms in living organisms (by Dulbecco and Salk, 20 Feb 1967); a memorandum from Jonas Salk on a discussion between Resident and Non-Resident Fellows [ideas for work of the Salk Institute] on 14 Feb 1967; and a copy of a letter to Basil O'Conner from Jonas Salk requesting a meeting with O'Conner and other National Foundation staff to discuss closer collaboration with the Salk Institute and the Institute's plans.
