Contains: drafts, notes, a summary paper, an "unrevised original" with [notes by Leslie Orgel], and a "revised copy". Also includes: a programme for the meeting (27-29 Dec 1969); annotated copies of papers on 'The Existence of Self-Producing Units' by Leslie Orgel (unpublished, 1965) and 'The Probability of the Existence of a Self-Reproducing Units' by Eugene P Wigner (1967); correspondence with Robert S Cohen on arrangements for Bronowski to give the paper during a session on 'Physics and the Explanation of Life'; letters from Eugene P Wigner sending his comments on the paper (included); correspondence with Ralph Wendell Burhoe (editor of 'Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science') on possibly publishing the paper; and extracts from Bronowski's discussions at 'Institute de la Vie' (1969) marked for possible inclusion in an expansion of 'The Evolution of Complexity'.
