Scope and content
Letter from William Eade to William French, 25th October 1843. Written from Moor Monkton. Eade says to his uncle that he has not heard from two notes written to Anna (one of French's daughters) about what he plans on doing to the church. The parish will drain and spout the church. Asks him to encourage Anna to reply as soon as possible as the winter is fast approaching and the work needs to be done. Asks French to write to Mr. Russell about it. Says the methodists are horribly bigotted. The school is small at present. The Hessay school master has left. Daniel O'Connell is arrested and held to bail for sedition. Would much like to witness the gaieties of Cambridge next Thursday. John is very well. John Dodsworth intends on leaving the farm. Do you remember the old man talking about it.
