Scope and content

Letter from John Crouch Grylls to William French, written from Saltash, Cornwall. Mentions that he will be visiting Ireland regularly over the next three years and so though it would make sense to enter his name into the registers of Trinity College Dublin with a view to getting a degree in Arts. In order to do this, he needs to get the relevant certificate from College to say he has been a member of the University of Cambridge and has met the necessary residency and examination qualifications. Asking French to supply this certificate. He believes his caution money will cover some of the costs due from him to the College. Dates of residency written on the letter by T. Dickes.
