Scope and content
Letter from Robert Jefferson to William French, written from Turnham Green. Surprised by French's request for urgent payment of the fellowship when he had already said he would pay it once he had determined the accounts were correct, which is more than the law requires him to do. Could not pay the £80 without considerable inconvenience and thinks the College is probably asking too much. Feels Willis' bill is incorrect. Can only do what he feels is right and wants to please all parties, but only once he has convinced himself that their claims are correct.
