Letter from Richard Rowe to William French, written from Jesus College. Writes that Mr. Dickes attended in the Hall at midday and inducted Mr. Bowness and Mr. Fisher to their fellowships. Rowe witnessed that Dickes faltered very much but went through the ceremony and once they were admitted congratulated them in his usual manner before returning to his rooms, Mr. Birkett assisting him slightly. Dickes got worse between 4 and 5pm and so Mr. Sudbury was sent for. Mr Dickes was beyond help and died at 6pm. He left instruction to Mrs. Daller with regard the location of his grave in the cloisters between the two doors of the Chapel. Rowe had seen Mr. and Mrs. Randall but they knew of no other wishes of Mr. Dickes. Following French's direction, Rowe consulted E. Smith who will attend to the business in the usual manner. Rowe will see Turner in the morning. He also lists fellows present in the College viz Mr. Birkett, Mr. Dixon, Mr. Bowness and Mr. O. Fisher. Mr. Wiidham went out this morning.
