Scope and content

Letter from N. J. Otter to William French. Asks if he can tell her when her late husband William Otter, late Bishop of Chichester, was elected Fellow of Jesus and was made Tutor. Mentions Mr. Otter went to a curacy in Cornwall but returned on the acceptance of his fellowship and position of senior tutor at Jesus. The specific date is needed as she is about to erect a monument to him in Chichester Cathedral. The monument is to be a marble bust on a stone pedestal and is purely put up by Mrs. Otter and her children in addition to that put up by the clergy of the diocese and several friends. Letter to be directed to Mrs Otter and A Trotter, Esq., 8 Montague Place, Montague Square.
