Letter from Maurice Byrne, in manuscript, single page, dated 3 October 1968, thanking IS for the gift of a 2 sol piece [of France?] and going on to discuss his particular interest in the "series of constitutional 2s to 3d pieces". He notes that there were seventeen normal mints and four to five auxiliary ones operating around that time [i.e. 1792?], giving five possible date combinations. He further notes that the twelve denier pieces seem to be the least regular. In view of the rarity of coins from the series in good condition, he very much appreciates the exemplar that IS sent him.
