Scope and content

Letter from John Chown with two attachments:
(a) letter, typescript, single page, dated 7 February 2005, with attachment, thanking IS for his letter of 1 February and the accompanying drafts. He says that his help may be most useful in two areas: (i) on the financial economics of debasement, and (ii) on the Bristol mint, for which he still has his working drafts.
(b) attachment (photocopy), typescript, thirteen pages on thirteen folios (recto only), numbered 12-24, undated, consists in JFC's draft on the Bristol coinage of 1546-1549, which goes back to 1976.
(c) attachment, typescript (photocopy), five pages on five folios (each with separate tables numbered 1-5), undated, unattributed, but associated with the Chown correspondence on the grounds that one of the tables focuses specifically on the dies for Bristol groats.
