Scope and content

Written from Oxford Terrace, Paddington. Gifford would not have intruded on French had Gifford's friend Mr. Page not told him to do so with regard his questions about Moses Stuart's book, "men and manners in America". In this, Stuart mentions different literary and scientific institutions, but not Andover University. As such, could French supply details of any professor's connected to that University.

This University could possibly be either Phillips Academy or possibly Andover Theological Seminary.
