Letter from Harry Manville and separate attachment without cover
(a) letter, in typescript, dated 2008, in which he advises IS of an impending visit the next month "to clean up a few things at the British Library". He states that he has heard nothing "from this side" [i.e. the US] about the theft IS's [Scottish] collection, which occurred in June of the previous year (see [cf. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/south_of_scotland/6283688.stm). The letter concludes with a brief discussion of the merk series.
(b) attachment, without cover, consisting in a photocopy of Peter Gaspar's review of HM's Encyclopaedia of British Numismatics, vol. 3: British and Irish Printed Books, 1600-2004 (London: Spink, 2006), in the Numismatic Circular, June 2006.
