Scope and content
Photocopy of a letter from Elizabeth Wetton to Terence Volk, in typescript, two pages on two folios (recto only), undated but after 4 August [1981?], expressing concerns about the timetable for publication of the Festschrift for Philip Grierson in September/October 1982. She notes that the proposal for the volume was accepted in July 1977 with publication originally planned for 1979. She further notes that Ann Johnston completed the sub-editing as far as possible and passed the typescript to her on 4 August [1981?], but the absence of illustrations means that it is not yet possible to set the type. The purpose of the letter is to advise TRV what is still required before production of the Festschrift can proceed. These are: (1) all photographs, (2) editorial preface and (3) forward, plus a first draft of a 250-word blurb. She asks "as a matter of urgency" when these things can be expected to be done, adding that the photographs are crucial, and she asks for a quick response. There is a compliments note attached from E. L. Wetton with "For information" added in manuscript.
