(1) Letter from H. Schutte to Steve Fairbairn, dated 12th November 1935. Nederlandsche Roeibond, J.M. Coenenstraat 10 hs, Amsterdam.

Contents include: Request to persuade Jesus College Boatman to name terms for going over to Holland around the middle of December (ideally approximately 21st-28th); suggestion of staying some days in order to teach coaches the principles of the Fairbairn style; can arrange for a fixed tub; hope that wishes will be taken into consideration if subject could be broached.

Contents include: Thanks for courtesy, will be pleased if can come to Amsterdam to teach coaches the principle of the Fairbairn style; request for indication of terms - return fare, board and lodging paid by Dutch Rowing Association; request to discuss fee on basis of staying 7th-15th December (exchange rate £1=7.25 Guilders, paid in Dutch currency or sterling); further particulars relating to fixed tub will follow; request for instruction by return so can arrange for coaches on 7th December.
