He is obliged to the Master and Fellows of Jesus College for his election on Mr Rustat's Foundation and conveys his thanks, as does his neighbour Mrs Gray. Mrs Sanderson is not at home today - she shall have his letter on her return.

Includes repairing gas pipes, grinding up the cocks, repairing the gas lights in Cloister Court, thawing the condensation loose in gas pipe in courts, repairing a broken join next to main cock in porter's lodge, taking water out of lamp in New Court, searching for an escape of gas and repairing, and two men opening ground for lamp in New Court to find out the place where the water is in pipe, cutting pipe in two, letting water and connecting pipe again.
