Percy,
My memories of this trip are very dear and are a highlight in my life. Rather than write you an emotional epistle, perhaps this diary will bring you some delight and fond memories of the 1953 Kent Henley trip as expressed in this document.
Best personal regards - Kent Crews of the future will miss knowing you.

A letter written from Buddy to Percy on hearing of the death of Steve Fairbairn. The letter sings the praises of Fairbairn and his skill as a coach, and tells Percy of the crew he is currently coaching - they are not very good and have little hope of winning. He closes the letter with his hopes that Percy will keep the Jesus crew 'free of all nonsense and make them work their blades to move the boat'.
Includes the original envelope - addressed to Percy Bullock Esq., 16 New Square, Cambridge

Bullock, Percy (1906-1988), BoatmanA letter from Buddy ? at Leverett House, Harvard, to Percy. The letter asks after Percy's progress and asks for information about the Fours and the general prospects for that year. He tells him his news from Harvard and that Bill Melish is with him and of all their sculling pursuits. He discusses in detail rowing techniques and the methods in which beginners are taught at Harvard. He closes with asking how Percy's 'son and heir' is and sends his greetings to Mrs Bullock.
