Willow Place was a continuation of Willow Walk to the east of Fair Street. The south side of Willow Place was built upon Ropemaker's Close which was allotted to the College by the Barnwell Inclosure Award. The north side of Willow Place was part of the south verge of Newmarket Road and belonged to various owners.
The name survives to denote a passage leading to the service roads at the back of the Grafton Centre, but the site of these houses is now under the western car park

This is a receipt for items purchased from James Paine, Corn and Coal Merchant, by Mrs. Ann Fielding. The list includes from June 16 bricks, cut lime, dow lath, a pound of hair, pavings, buck, plain tiles, pan tiles, stone whiting, and red 5 cub. On October 16 the list includes four pounds hair and cut lime. One December 21 there is an order for tiles. The total amount of the receipt is £3.7.6.

Paid £8 7s 6d to Katherine Hingston, due to her as one of Mr. Rustat's pensioners. At the top a note from 29th December 1772 attesting to Katherine Hingston's status as a widow, her move to the parish of St. Andrew's Holborn in London, and her good character, witnessed by Thomas Taylor, a minister, and D. Richard and Cole, church wardens.

He thanks the Master and Fellows of Jesus College for the first offer of Hundon, but since he already received the living of Ketton [?], Hundon ceases to be an object for his son William, as he will have at his father's death the vicarage and tithes of Little Waldingfield.

He has looked at the detached lands for his part of the late Mr Cuthbert's will, consisting of about 60 acres. From his inspection, he reckons moderate attention has been paid to it, and Mr Cuthbert has very injudiciously moved the farm from its former situation near a good land road. In its present state, he reckons between 10/- or 12/- per acre would be a fair price for rent. If a cottage is built, and a stable for four horses, it might be possible to charge 15/- per acre, but if the College wants to charge this much in good conscience, they should first move the farm back to its original position.

He has recommended various applications, and one this morning from the occupiers of the farm opposite, but if someone can be found to live in the property where it is, that would be more beneficial for the College than letting it out off-hand.

Includes payment of Rogers and labourers, mending the building at the home farm, allowance for beer, 10 bunches of springels and bunch, 4 pounds of ropeyarn, 3 bunches of springels and bunch. Total of £1 16s 7d. Noted as paid January 1st.
