Probably left in the wall at the time the stairs and entrance to hall were created in 1962

Small wooden box containing multiple examples of keys probably dating from 17th century to mid 20th century. Possibly for doors in the Masters' Lodge.

Roger North's Mathematical Instruments

Box of mathematical instruments, formerly the property of Roger North and given to the College on his death in 1734. Also includes printed list of instruments in box, probably once used when instruments were included in an exhibition.

Plaster Cast Medallions

Four deep picture frames containing numerous plaster cast medallions showing classical images, scenes and figures. Each medallion appears to be numbered, the numbers, presumably, once relating to a list. Historic photographs suggest that at one time these hung in the SCR.

Copper Saucepan Lids

Three copper saucepan lids (?) that would have been used in the College kitchens. Each engraved with either Jesus College Cambridge or Jesus College kitchen. Graduated sizes - 15cm, 18.5cm and 19.5cm diameters.

Muniment Room Keys

Bunches of keys in box stating 'from muniment room desk'. Labels on bunches of keys indicate they were used to open metal boxes used to store documents. Makers of keys include Hobbs & Co London, Yale and Belfry Brand.

Copper and tin lined jelly mould inscribed with Jes Coll Kit. Design on mould is rounded conical shape, with six half pear shapes to side topped with nipple shape.

Wax Sealing Set

Blue fabric covered box with bone toggles enclosing two metal and ivory stamps, bars of sealing wax and a packet of Maid Marian matches.

Clock Winding Mechanism Part

Part of the Chapel clock’s winding mechanism called a sun and moon maintainer. Maintaining power allows a clock to keep power supplied to it, whilst the barrel with the driving weight is being wound back up.

Base for Benin Bronze

Wooden base made to display the Benin Bronze cockerel which was donated to the College in 1905 by George William Neville. Metal plaque on the front with a Latin inscription, translates as: “Georges William Neville gave to Jesus College this emblem of its founder which he himself had brought back from the ancient city of the Benins in Western Africa captured by the British forces in 1897.”

Leather top hat box with red silk interior. Known to have been used to store Head Porter's top hat c. 1990 - 2018. With initials F. P. painted on outside.

Summer blazer of the Amalgamated Club. White with narrow red and black stripes. Black cock on a red ball over gold crown, with red letters J.C.A.C. under on the breast pocket. Brass buttons. Formerly property of D.F.L. Mills (adm. 1924)

White china with basic blue willow pattern and floral pattern. Embellished with red and yellow hand painted decoration. Fruit plate on stand, 24cm diameter, 11.5cm high; Two dinner plates, 22.5cm diameter.
