Also includes list of charitable donations: to the Elmstead Poor, the Gravely Poor, St. Paul's Church, Elmstead School building, King's Stanley Church building, All Saints' Church and St. Giles burial ground. Also includes payment to the Vicar of All Saints for two years, Quit rent: to Cauis College, to Trinity Hall in 1863 only, Corpus Christi, Clare and Trinity. Also includes payment for the Chapel, Choristers, Organ Blower and Schoolmaster, Chandler's bills, coals, cleaning, Anthems, bookbinding, painting and printing. Also includes list of miscellaneous expenses to Mr. Bidwell for agency, Harwood for agency, payment to Burder and Dunning, Pitt Press 1863-4, Francis for agency, payment to Francis for conveyance of site for All Saints' Church (crossed out).

The nuns are discharged from payment of procurations to the Archdeacon. Document imperfect. Reportedly missing in 1960.

Consists of a letter from Tony Loftas (editor) asking Bronowski to write an article for Discovery: Journal of Science, with a reply declining.

Includes notes on discovery of chapterhouse arches, letter to Arthur Gray from Osmond Fisher concerning the uncovering of the arches, 30th September 1897; Report from John Thomas Mickelthwaite to the College relating to the uncovering of the arches, 20th May 1893; Annotated copy by Arthur Gray of 'The Chapter House and some interior views thereof' extract from Chanticlere;

"Discussion note on ninth century Northumbrian chronology", by Stewart Lyon, typescript (photocopy), eleven pages on eleven folios (recto only), with ten pages of text and one page of bibliographical references, signed "CSSL" and dated March 1979. The paper, which is presented in outline-paragraph form, builds on earlier work of Hugh Pagan in considering the historical dating of key events and alternative datings suggested by the numismatic evidence.

Considerations on the decline of church and parish, and suggestions for reversing this.

Comprises audio recordings split into 13 chapters [relating to the 13 chapters/programmes of 'The Ascent of Man'].

Letter from Francis & Co (College solicitors) to Bernard Lord Manning (Bursar) quoting from a letter from Pickfords Ltd in which they respond to the College's view that their rights had been "completely disregarded" during the construction of their building and that they should have found out who owned the neighbouring property [an agreement was reached between the College and Pickfords - see JCAD/3/CAM//1933]

Documents and correspondence concerning the dissolution of the Benefice of Conington and the Benefice of Lolworth and the transfer of the Parish of Conington and the Parish of Lolworth to the Benefice of Papworth, the Papworth Team ministry of which the College’s living of Graveley, St Botolph is a part.

Bill from John Greenland and Thomas Taverner to the Master and Fellows of Jesus College for work cleaning a ditch on port, amounting to £4 10s. Signed at bottom, settled Henry Foster.

Two items, the first of which is a receipt from the Revd the Master of Jesus College to E Frisby for work done to Jesus ditch, with charges including a chain for fencing, deepening and banking the ditch; paying Mr Lilley for willow; paying Frisby for three journeys and attending to the ditch. All totals £16 5s, from which £10 has already been received. Signed by E Frisby as paid 24 February 1862.
Second item is a small receipt from Mr Frisby to James Lilley for the aforementioned willow, totalling £6 8s. Signed by Lilley as paid 22 February 1862.

Paid £5 to men for cleaning out Jesus Close ditch. Signed by Markham.

Paid £1 11d to John Horton (last name is an educated guess). For: pole of ditching and labour.

The daily offices according to the use of York; M. R. James's no. 77. Imperfect at the beginning. The flyleaves come from a 14C ms. of a historical and homiletical nature.

Contains calculations of the Fellows dividend from all sources: credits from corn rents, fines on leases, rents and pensions earnarked for this purpose, degree fees; debits to land tax, fees paid to college, fees to servants, and commencement suppers. The early entries include details of terms of leases and their renewal.

Contains calculations of the Fellows dividend on the corn rents and on rents in kind commuted for money. Deductions are made for: commons, "dead college", Butler, Schoolkeeper, Porter, garden, commencement supper, corn money for commons and additional commons.

Contains accounts for calculating dividends. The dividend on the corn money (etc.) is calculated at the Audit; the dividend on fines is calculated at Commencement, at the Audit and at the Second Audit.

Contains calculations of the Fellows dividend on the fines paid on renewal of leases, and on degree fees. The account was made up in December and June, and at odd times when new leases were drawn up. At the end of the book is a brief list of dues in kind to the Master, commuted to a money payment of £5. 2s. 0d., which was increased to £10. 2s. 0d. in 1759.

One leaf of paper folded in half and written on the first three sides. Third side has watermark insignia of woman with shield and waves (Britannia). First sheet of paper Dividends on Stock less Income tax has four lines through it crossing it out, as well as a scribble over a note about payments having not been received. First page has a total of £1200 15s 0d from dividends minus £40 of Income Tax, and notes dividends, including those from Great Eastern, Sir William May, Great Shelford, Knapp, Great Northern, Gray, Barnwell.

The second page contains the Hundon Account 1879, including the Deeks and Hudds rent, and the Net tithe Rent Charge which has been subtracted from the dividend to give £901 9s 2d. The rest of the page has a breakdown of various rent and land charges associated with the properties and their upkeep.

Third page has the Proby fund Account of 1879 noting the Deeks and Hudds Land Rax, the rent of of various places and the money due to the master.

Property and income tax and land tax receipts for payments made by Mr Dixon to the parish of St. Andrew the Lesser for his Jesus College property. There are receipts for taxes due 20th September 1844 and 20th March 1845

With an envelope listing the articles.

Comprises correspondence, mainly with Professor Theodosius Dobzhansky and Professor Francisco Ayala (College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences, University of California at Davis), relating to a conference on 'Problem of Reduction in Biology' to take place at Villa Serbelloni with support of the Alfred P Sloan and Rockefeller Foundations (9-16 Sep 1972). Bronowski planned to attend and present his paper on 'Stratified Stability and the Evolution of Complexity' but withdrew in August as Rita Bronowski was not able to stay in Villa Serbelloni.
