A letter from Haines to Dr Westmorland detailing the charges covered by the enclosed £214 0s 0d cheque, including for Land Tax, Income Tax, County Fire Office, Horne Schools. The Letter notes that according to the arrangement other charges will be settled when Horne is visited. Is noted as being Horne of Sussex rather than Surrey as an earlier receipt had it. A postscript noting that no changes are allowed for this year.

Letter from H G Filch, signed by Arthur Westmoreland about difficulties finding tenants this Michaelmas for the farms, with two still left with no prospects of tenants. He was offered 17s per acre last Friday for land at Hundon, did not feel it was enough, hopes the bidder could be induced to give 20s per acre and could be satisfied with the receiver expecting £5. Buyer would take a twelve year lease. Asks for a response to know what do to.
