Receipt for carpentry work, paid by the Revd the Master & Fellows of Jesus College to George Bradwell. Bill for work done to the Master's Lodge and around College between 8th December 1855 and 22nd September 1856. Items billed for the Master's Lodge include: 11 ft super 3/4in deal & four 6in hold fasts had for the Master's Gardener; the garden gates, work to & rehang ditto, 1ft run 2 by 2in oak & 3 men's time to do. Items billed for College include: Porter's Lodge, make a cupboard for water metre, 12ft run by 3/4 & 11ft run 9 by inch deal, 1 pair of 6in cross garnets & screws, 1 pair 1 1/4in joints & screws, 2 black knobs, 2 buttons & screws, 1/2 dozen 1 1/2 screws 1/2, 6 2 1/2in nails, four 6in hold fasts, & clout nails & man 2 day's time to do; tower of Chapel, take down old Louvre frames & make 4 new ditto with slats etc., 3 men 4 days each; to ditto & fixed ditto, 150ft sup 5/8in, 24 sup inch deal, 5 at 1/2in brads, 1 at 8 nails, 12 6in hold fasts, 3 men's time fixing ditto, 1 day each; make & fix a fence in the Porter's Garden, 7 ft sup 3/4in, 6ft sup inch & 15 run 3 1/2 by 2in deal, 3/4 at 8 nails, & man's time 3/4 day; Porter's Lodge, new floor to the sitting room, a new hearth stone & take out & refix stove, & take off and rehang 2 doors, estimate delivered.
