Bills from the estate of John Carter, Cambridge. Includes printed notice from the executors of John Carter, Cambridge, Grocer and China-man, deceased describing that the business was taken on by Moses Brown, Carter's nephew on 16th July 1828 and so on settling Carter's will, debts are being recalled. Payments to be made to Mr. Joseph Gee and Mr. Elliot Smith, executors or directly to Moses Brown. On back of this notice is a list of items with money outstanding by Jefferson including total amount of earlier bill plus sugar, ginger, candles, water and bottle, hearth brush, clay, paper and twine, mop, top, sand and dust, oil all totalling £23 5s 1d all bought between 1815 and 1816; Also, itemised bill of the earlier amount listing candles, cut decanters, wine glasses, corkscrew, beaker, tea, candles, mop, furniture oil, rushlights, sugar, sperm oil, cotton, biscuits, cards, eggs, nuts, coffee, strainer, taper, matches, stick, paper and twine, carpet whisk, honey and pot, oil and vial, clay, nutmegs, snuff, clothes brush, sago. This was on his tutors account. Further items listed include ginger, cocoa, salt, mop, soap and sand, water bottle, hearth brush, candles, oil, sugar, paper, furniture oil, oil and vial, sand and dish, paper and twine, clay. All bought between 1812 and 1816; Small receipt signed by Elliot Smith acknowledging settlement of the bill for £23 5s 1d.
