Two items, the first of which is a receipt from the Master and Fellows of Jesus College to C M Bidwell, detailing charges for interviews with Dr Corrie concerning the purchases of land at Cherry Hinton; attending the sale of estate at the Lion (and forgoing the property because it was too expensive); interviewing again regarding a survey and report concerning the farm held on lease by Mr John Elliston at St Giles; arranging with him regarding the fixtures and Green House belonging to the tenant; corresponding with Dr Corrie regarding the cropping and manure on the farm; managing claims by Mr Elliston regarding manure and a fence on the land; arranging files about underdraining and setting out the same with Mr A J Gray, the subtenant; examining the draft lease to the Rifle Corps; putting in the actual amount of land from the survey; valuing the land to be dug and excavated and ascertaining what the quantity is. All totals £15 15s. Signed by C M Bidwell as received 23 January 1862.
The second item is a letter from Bidwell, dated also 23 January 1862, returning two bills and thanking the recipient (Corrie) for the same, and also informing Corrie that the Wicken [?] Estate has not sold and is unlikely to be, as they will not accept less than £18,000.
