Letter from Stewart Lyon, in typescript, single page, dated 7 October 1998, with three-page attachment of the same date. In the letter, he introduces the idea "for an occasional series of 'Tenth Century Notes' in the BNJ" with contributions from anyone who is following up on the work done by SL, IS and Christopher Blunt in the 1970s and 1980s for the Coinage of Tenth-Century England. SL also refers to the new Edgar material on the market in recent years and to work that he has been doing on obverse die-links involving north-eastern moneyers. The attachment is a list of "Obverse die links – mainly Lincoln and York related", mostly in the coinage of Edgar (959-975) but extending to his predecessors going back to 924.
