Mainly comprises correspondence between Sylvia Fitzgerald and Mildred L Bain (Dean) or Robert H McCabe (Executive Vice President) relating to a course based on 'The Ascent of Man' television programmes being developed and then administered by Miami-Dade Community College.
Correspondence with Mildred Bain is on subjects including her being asked to be join the board of governors of a Jacob Bronowski Centre for the Humanities, the success of the course, work to be done to develop the course, and a protest by the Fair Education Foundation (against the theory of evolution being taught in 'The Ascent of Man').
Correspondence with Robert H McCabe is on subjects including: sending him copies of letters from various schools and colleges about 'The Ascent of Man' for possible use in course materials; a seminar workshop that took place at Claremont Graduate School (summer 1974); arrangements for developing 'The Ascent of Man' anthology and study guide; and payment for Bronowski's services to help develop the course.
