Nine letters from Christopher Brooke, all but one (dated 11 June 2006) in typescript. The letters deal primarily with the death of Philip Grierson and the preparation of his obituary for the British Academy, which was originally intended as a collaboration between CB, IS and Peter Spufford. A significant portion of the substance of the letters is taken up with discussion about Peter Spufford's failure to meet their deadlines and very late submission of his contribution. The first letter (a) is undated but from soon after the beginning of the year and probably before PG's death on 15 January. The remaining letters are dated as follows: (b) 21 January, (c) 4 June, (d) 11 June, (e) 24 August, (f) 20 September, (g) 30 September, (h) 26 October and (i) 3 December. There are duplicates of the two letters from September, intended for others.
