She does most of the writing now that Ernest has trouble with trembling. They often carpool to the Athenaeum. She writes about an American who went to Carlton University, graduated at the top of her class and got a Marshall scholarship to work on "catastrophe theory" at Warwick (Jennie something). Their son Robert was at Jesus and he is now a schoolmaster in Edinburgh with his wife and family. Nancy has myeloma (blood cancer) and her mother died of terminal cancer. Pars replies.
