Biographical history
On 5th May 1820 William Hayward was admitted as an attorney before Lord Chief Justice Best of King's Bench Court. He then immediately joined the firm of solicitors Pemberton and Fiske to form Pemberton, Fiske and Haywood. This lasted until the death of Thomas Fiske in 1829 when the firm changed its name to Pemberton and Hayward. This continued until Haywood's death on 7th February 1838
The original practice had been started by Christopher Pemberton in 1789 and eventually became Mills & Reeve

W.W. Hayward to Dr French, he and Mr Jenkins have been collecting necessary papers to obtain an opinion. Mr Castley has some but declines to furnish them without authority from the College. Please ask him to do so. If the opinion is favourable, should proceedings be taken to prevent the operation of the Act of Parliament?
