Scope and content

Carbon copy of a letter from William (Bill) Seaby to David Sellwood, typescript, single page, dated 6 October 1969, concerning his research on the coins from the Brussels and Colchester hoards. Based on his identifications of specific dies, he is estimating output from some dies as high as 70,000 per pile and 30,000 per trussel. He is asking DGJS for his comments on whether medieval irons could bear that kind of punishment. There is a manuscript note in the upper margin that reads "Copy for information & comments".
