Scope and content

Letter, card with attachment and note with attachment from Simon Keynes. The letter, in manuscript, dated 28 October 1986 (a), is on Anglo-Saxon England letterhead. It advises IS that the editorial committee has accepted his contribution on "Ministers and Moneyers", but for the subsequent volume, since the volume then in preparation already had a numismatic contribution from Veronica Smart. The card, in manuscript, dated 18 December 1986 (b), has a six-page (A4) computer print-out attached, in landscape layout, that lists laymen who attest Mercian and West Saxon charters in the ninth century. The note, in manuscript (pencil), is undated (c); it provides no solid context for narrowing down the date but appears to be similarly related to IS's work on ministers and moneyers. The attachment is a three-page manuscript table (A3), in portrait layout, that lists theyns attesting Athelstan's charters in the early tenth century.
