Copy of letter from Ronald Tress to Christopher Brooke, typescript, single page, dated 11 November 1981, stating that he would be prepared to back a four-year proposal for Professor Grierson's project provided it cost less than £50,000, that Mark Blackburn's role in the project were specific to the undertaking, and that there would be no extension beyond the four years. The copy includes a manuscript note in the upper left corner that reads "Copy for you to keep v. confidential".
