Scope and content

Letter from Raymond Weiller, in manuscript, single page, dated 8 December 1978 (a), in response to a letter from Ian Stewart in which IS requests photographs of a coin from the Luxembourg coin cabinet that illustrates the influence on the Continent of that Scottish groats of David II that first appeared in 1358 so that he may use the photos in a publication. In his reply, Raymond Weiller refers to an enclosure of a photograph of coin no. 132a./b. (from their collection), adding that there are no costs, but he requests an offprint of one of Ian Stewart's paper. There is a brief note, in IS's hand, which reads "Thanked 13.xii". With this is a photocopy of Ian Stewart's original letter, in manuscript, single page, dated 3 December 1978 (b), specifying his interest in joint issues of Wenceslas I and Bohemund of Treves, 1358-1359 (Weiller's nos. 132-137), and offering to pay the cost.
