Letter from Peter Seaby, manuscript, single page, dated 24 October 1977, providing cover for an attached paper in typescript that he is sending to IS with enclosures of illustrations, since IS is working on Norman coinage and was not able to attend the September meeting of the BNS at which he presented the paper. He further notes that he has added a short postscript to the typescript. He says that he is hoping to follow this up with a detailed survey of the ornamental devices that are common to the "York group" pennies and to the deniers and petit-deniers of northern France and Flanders. The typescript, entitled "The anomalous 'York group' coins of Stephen's reign", is catalogued separately (JCPP/Stewartby/5/2/SEABYP/1977/1).
