Letter from Paul [and Bente] Withers, in typescript, single page, dated 30 April 2001, thanking IS for taking the time and trouble to reply and comment [on their paper]. They discuss the pre-treaty coinage [of Edward III, 1327-1377, dated 1351-1361], explain the distinction between pre-treaty and transitional treaty as deriving from North, and acknowledge the "fishtail" feature of the lettering. They also mention "the strange pellet", which they didn't dwell upon because they were never able to determine what it was. Finally, there is discussion of the bibliography for the paper.
