Letter from Paul Robinson, Curator of Wiltshire Heritage for the Wiltshire Archaeological and Natural History Society, in typescript, single page, dated 5 June 2000, to Mrs J. Blunt, presumably Julia Blunt, wife of Simon Blunt. PHR asks whether he may apply to the Blunt Trust for a contribution towards the purchase of a group of five 17th-century Wiltshire tradesmen's tokens from the Norweb collection, which is being sold by Spink. He has been offered the tokens prior to the dispersal of the collection for £350. He notes that the Society's Museum hold the most extensive collection 17th-century Wiltshire tokens in existence, lacking examples of only ten tokens and now having the opportunity to fill five gaps. Budget constraints have reduced the budget for new acquisitions to only a third of what it had been, so any help that Blunt Trust could offer would be greatly appreciated. He adds that the Museum was recently offered a locally found Arabic silver dirhem as a gift, something that would have delighted Christopher [Blunt].
