Letter from Patrick Finn, typescript, single page, dated 28 March 1978, with five attachments. In the letter, PF expresses gratitude for all the work that IS has done on the Shillington hoard and asks for "a couple of paragraphs on the hoard itself" for use in marketing the coins. There are five attachments:
(a) photocopy of notes from an original in manuscript, five pages on five folios (recto only), dated August 1976, entitled "Shillington (1871) hoard"
(b) photocopy of the first page only of William Allen, 'Find of coins in Bedfordshire', Numismatic Chronicle, n.s., vol. 11 (1871), p. 227 [of pp. 227-228], in reference "to a discovery of coins near Shillington, Bedfordshire, in April of this year".
(c) photocopy of C. E. Blunt and B. H. I. H. Stewart, 'A parcel from the Shillington (1871) hoard?', Numismatic Circular (September 1977), p. 354.
(d) photocopy of an anonymous (i.e. editorial) note entitled 'The 1871 Shillington find', Numismatic Circular (June1978), p. 311.
(e) numismatic sales catalogue: Spink Coin Auction no. 1, 11 October 1978, lots 1-28 of which are described as 'A parcel from the Shillington hoard, 1871'.
