Letter from Mr. Thomas Attwood Walmisley to William French, written from 18 Cowley Street, Westminster. Writes to inform French he is applying for the situation of organist at Trinity and St. John's Colleges and encloses a reference from Rev. Mr. Scott of Bromely. Enclosed letter is dated 2nd January 1833 from Thomas Scott and addressed to William French. Scott says he does not know Walmisley personally, but they have many mutual acquaintances and he is happy to vouch for him. Walmisley has recently been organist at Croydon church with a large and highly respectable congregation and are satisfied with Walmisley's abilities as an organist. Walmisley is young but has acquired great skill. Hopes that French and his family enjoyed the chairing of their excellent conservative candidate.
