Scope and content
Letter from Michael Ashcroft to James Graham-Campbell, in typescript, single page, dated 20 July 1990, explaining that, in 1807, a reference to the parish of Bossall would have been alluding to the ecclesiastical parish, and that it would have been unusual to refer to the civil parish, as it is now called, "as anything other than a township". MYA further explains that "Harton and Claxton lie within the ecclesiastical parish of Bossall". In the margin below, there is a note of three lines from JGC to Ian [Stewart], in manuscript, dated 1 August 1990, thanking IS for his comments on Bossall and stating, in reference to the text of MYA's letter above, "here is the parish problem sorted out".
