Letter from Marvin Lessen, typescript, dated 5 January 1999, with one-page attachment. In the letter, ML states that he would like to submit the attached piece to the journal of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society, or perhaps to the [Numismatic] Circular, and wondered if IS could say whether the hoard had been covered or reported elsewhere. The two-page attachment, in typescript on a single sheet, lists coins of King Eadgar (959-975) that appeared on the market 1994-1996 and are thought to have come from a presumed hoard found in or around Winchester from 1991 to before 1994, with references and brief accompanying text.
