Letter from Mark Blackburn thanking IS for his recent "letter and kind remarks about MEC", and expressing some thoughts about the volume now that it was published. Most of the letter is turned over to addressing specific points about the volume on "Series X", "Pada", "Coenwulf in E. Anglia", "Alchred v. Æthewald Moll" and "St Peter". The letter concludes with brief comments about MB's receipt of an offprint from R. K. B. Stevenson of his Iona report, an obituary that IS had written for Colonel Murray and MB's health.
