Scope and content

Letter from Lucia Travaini, in typescript, single page, dated 6 February 1998, with attachment; the letter deals first with the discovery of records in the Bargello, Florence, relating to a hoard of short-cross coins that came to light near Pontremoli, Italy, in 1822, but also noting that the coins are no longer in the Museum. LT goes on to explain that she has obtained an appointment as Associate Professor of Numismatics at the University of Milan, starting most likely with the beginning of the new academic year. The attachment consists in photocopies of the relevant records from the Bargello, which describe the coins and their inscriptions.
