Scope and content

Letter from John M. Kemble to William French, written from Trinity College, Cambridge. Would like to introduce himself a candidate for the librarianship. He has now found accommodation in Cambridge so can fully commit himself to the role if he is elected. His official duties in Her Majesty's household would not prevent him from carrying out the librarian duties. He hopes his acquaintance with some of the most distinguished men of letters in northern and southern Europe, his familiarity with most languages spoken on the continent and knowledge of some of the largest libraries in the world will be a good qualification.
