Letter from J. P. Birkett to William French, written from Kelloe, Durham. Writes to say he is still unwell and hasn't been allowed outside to breathe fresh air. Mentions that Merry has confirmed that he wishes to leave Cambridge on 7th October and so Birkett hopes to be in Cambridge two or three days before this to received the tutors books and hints on College business from Merry. He would then be happy to wait upon French at Southwold or wherever convenient. Wishes French a speedy recovery for his own poor health.
