Letter from J. Gibson to William French, written from Jesus College. Mr Rackham has applied to him to advance some money to the man who has supplied the timber, but he can't afford to do that otherwise he won't have enough to pay residential expenses, carriage and porters labour. Arranged for the careful removal of some of the timber. The railway charge is less than they had expected being between 8 and 9 shillings a ton from Yarmouth. Mr. Rackham says the wood from one of the trees has turned out to be excellent in the opinion of the joiners and carpenters there. Timber is to be carried by wherry to Yarmouth at 10s a ton and from the station to Rattee's yard at 4s a ton but that does not seem like a good offer. He spent many days during the vacation in Oxford with Mr. Fisher and they agree that there's some woodwork there that they can much improve upon.
